  • Mediate commercial and non-commercial disputes between parties in a setting that put the participants at ease and is yet productive.
  • Member of multiple federal and state mediation panels.


       Senior Associate, September 1998 to March 2012

  • Represented individuals and entities in all stages of commercial litigation in state and federal courts, from the pleading stage through arbitration, mediation, trial, and/or appeal.
  • Representation included researching, writing and filing motion papers, pre-trial or pre-hearing briefs, post-trial or post-hearing briefs, and appellate briefs.   
  • Conducted and participated in mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Presented oral argument on motions and appeals in state and federal courts.
  • Prepared clients, third-party witnesses and experts for oral deposition, trial and arbitration testimony.
  • Represented purchasers and sellers in the purchase and sale of public and private companies, including negotiating terms, drafting agreements, and making the required government filings.
  • Represented and provided advice to entities and individuals regarding New York State alcoholic beverage matters.                        


       Research Assistant to President William K. Slate, Summer 1997

  • Examined the international arbitration cases filed with the American Arbitration Association’s Center for International Dispute Resolution and produced and presented an extensive report to the President.
  • Assisted with the organization of the Center for International Dispute Resolution in its early iteration.
  • Drafted speeches for the President regarding the use of alternative dispute resolution in international commerce.
  • Researched and co-authored articles on the use of alternative dispute resolution in various markets, such as the telecommunications and airline industries.  


       Legal Intern, Law Department, Summer 1996

  • Evaluated and administered cases for the Early Intervention Unit of the Torts Division.
  • Assessed plaintiffs’ cases against the City of New York, developed defenses and prepared memoranda for the attorneys to assist them in settling the cases.
